Tasting notes compiled by Michael Oliver food and wine commentator and life time achievement award winner for Eat Out.
Norah’s Valley Silk White is a premium non-alcoholic white wine made of the finest Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the Western Cape Wine of Origin Appellation. Accordingly, it has less than 0.5% alcohol, is low in sugar, and is officially dry. The Norah’s Valley Silk White is low in calories, and the result is a crisp delicate bodied wine.
Wine of Origin – Western Cape
Composition – 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Maturation – The wine is made for immediate drinking.
We bring the grapes to the wine cellar and later destalked and crushed. Undertaking, the conventional fermentation and wine making process. We remove the alcohol from the finished wine with no additions and chemical free. We put the wine through a spinning cone at low temperatures in a vacuum using cutting edge technology. The fermentation takes place following maturation in French Oak Barrels.
Elegantly labelled in a leaf coloured bottle, closed with a screw cap is Silk White. Above all, the non alcoholic white wine in the glass is a pale golden straw. Besides bright fruited, desiccated pineapple and mango gives exotic aroma. The palate is delicate and generous with the pineapple repeated, winter melon, mango and an undertow of sweet tropical limes. Basically, well balanced and harmonious in the waning aftertaste. As a matter of fact, it taste perfect for your next mocktails.
The Norah’s Valley Silk White is a great glass on its own, as a mid-morning refresher, as an aperitif, and is an excellent food partner. Serve chilled at between 7°C and 10°C. Crisp summery salads, chicken, fish and seafood, or goat cheese all certainly make great partners.
